Fearless. Unstoppable.

Senior Pastor Chee-Seng FAH, Sunday 18th February

Vision

To build disciples who represents Jesus to everyone, everywhere with everything

We live in a world today where there are many start ups, like Uber and Airbnb, that have managed to succeed and go global. However, there was a start up thousands of years ago, that began with a handful of ordinary people and now spread throughout the world because it was a movement of God. It was the birth of the church. Come join this series, as we get challenged to put aside our traditions, comforts, preferences and programs in order to follow the example of a disciple-making movement that relied upon the Holy Spirit and proclaimed the gospel of Christ.

Review

One of the key values in discipleship is actively hearing and obeying the Word. Therefore, it is important to have accountability to one another for our step of obedience from studying the Word. Spend the first part of your discussion asking – how did your step of obedience go from the last time we met?

Scripture

  1. Read Acts 3-4

Observation

  • What do these passages tell us about God?
  • What do these passages tell us about you and your life?
  • What questions do you have around this passage?

Application

Ps Chee shared that the disciples experienced an extreme makeover when they encountered the Holy Spirit. They changed from timid to courageous and fearful to fearless disciples. They were fearless with opportunities and fearless with rejection.

Discuss one or more of the following relevant questions.

  • Describe a change in your life that you’ve experienced because of your encounter with the Holy Spirit
  • Read Acts 3:6. What does the church have to offer that the world does not? How do we become a church that gives to the world what only God can give?
  • Read Acts 3:11-12, 16. Ps Chee shared that often our fear of our lack of power and our fear of our ungodliness hinders us from seeing and stepping into God given opportunities. Can you identify with this statement? Give examples. How does Peter’s response (vs 16) help you address your fears?
  • People will not reject our good deeds, but they will reject our good news. Describe a time when you faced rejection with sharing the good news. How did you deal with it?
  • How does the Holy Spirit help empower us to be bold in our witness for Jesus?
