Term 1 |
Bible Backgrounds |
The students study the historical, geographic, social and religious context of both Old and New Testaments, with the purpose of interpreting the writers original meaning accurately and applying the teaching to their own lives. In addition the students will consider the development of today’s English versions and decide which versions are most suited for devotional, educational, or public reading. |

Old Testament History |
This course gives an overview of the history of Israel demonstrating how God works in history and giving the student a background knowledge of Old Testament events in preparation for New Testament studies. |

Term 3 |
Old Testament Characters |
A study of the characters of the Old Testament, showing how God has used men and women in the past and how their strengths and weaknesses have been used to further God’s plan. |

Term 4 |
Hebrews |
The book of Hebrews helps us understand the link between the Old and New Testaments. It shows that in His life, death and resurrection Christ perfectly fulfilled the Old Testament sacrifices and promises, and encourages believers to develop strong and enduring faith. |

Term 1 |
Synoptic Gospels |
A study of the life of Christ as seen through the eyes of Matthew, Mark and Luke. This course emphasises different aspects of Jesus’ ministry and helps the student appreciate afresh the life-changing power of the Son of God. |

John's Gospel |
John's Gospel emphasises the divinity of Jesus Christ. It gives practical teaching on the development of a strong relationship with God and Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. |

Acts |
The Book of Acts describes the dynamic life and growth of the 1st century Christian church. In studying the main characters the students will learn about their spirituality, methods of church growth, evangelism and preaching while considering the application of principles in the 21st century church |

Romans |
The book of Romans helps the student understand the theology which changed the lives of believers in the first century and that has contributed to Christian theology throughout the ages. The letter also contains much practical advice on living as a disciple of Christ. |
