Watch the Sermon Series

These sermons provide the foundation for this journey, offering biblical teaching that complements each devotional session. The first four sermons explore the paradigm shift, while the last five focus on the practical steps of heart discipleship.

God wants to be Lord over every area of your life.

SERMON #2:

God in the Everyday Moments of Life

God is at work in the 10,000 everyday moments of your life.

SERMON #3:

Our Heart & Sin

Our biggest problem isn’t our circumstances – it’s the sin in our hearts. Sin makes us selfish, weak, seek in the wrong places, and blinds us. That’s why our hearts need to be freed from sin.

SERMON #4:

God is After Your Heart

God changes your life by first changing your heart. Whatever rules your heart, rules your life. When God has your heart, He has your life.

SERMON #5:

Heart Discipleship

Heart Discipleship is a way of following Jesus that helps you pay attention and respond to what the Holy Spirit is doing in your heart in your everyday moments of life.

SERMON #6:

Heart Habits #1: Invitation

Your everyday moments become a disciple-making moment when you recognise and respond to the Holy Spirit’s invitation.

SERMON #7:

Heart Habits #2: Conviction

The Holy Spirit helps you identify and name what is ruling your heart.

SERMON #8:

Heart Habits #3 and #4: Surrender & Belief

When the Holy Spirit asks you to surrender something in your life, He is bringing about change, transformation and life. The Holy Spirit gives you a revelation of the love of God that helps you to have the faith to obey.

SERMON #9:

Representing Jesus in Everyday Life

Faith that works shows up in everyday life—look for opportunities to show and share your faith.

Journey in a Life Group or Individually

This 7-session devotional is designed to help you slow down, listen to God, and respond to what the Holy Spirit is doing in your heart. Each session invites you to pause, pray, and reflect—not just take in more content.

Everyone should start by engaging personally.
Begin this journey on your own. God wants to meet you in your everyday moments.

But don’t stop there—go deeper with your Life Group.
The richest transformation happens when you share the journey with others. Life Group conversations help you process what God is doing in your heart and encourage growth together. This is the full experience.

One simple booklet includes everything:

  • 7 Devotions & Reflection Questions
  • Life Group Host Guides
  • Sermon Listening Plan (page 7)

Not in a Life Group? We’d love to help you join one, as discipleship is best done together. Join a Life Group here.

If you’re going solo, just focus on the devotional and reflection sections. You can skip the group guides.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this series for?

Anyone who wants to grow in their faith and learn how to follow Jesus more deeply. Whether you’re new to faith, wrestling with doubt, or have been a Christian for years, this is for you.

What makes this different from other discipleship programs?

Traditional discipleship often focuses on knowledge or behaviour. Heart Discipleship focuses on spiritual formation—how God works uniquely in each person’s story through the Holy Spirit, starting with the heart.

What is the devotional and life group guide?

The devotional and life group guide is meant to complement the sermon series. It has 7 sessions (i.e. 7 life groups) and each session contains:

  • Devotion & Reflection Questions – help you process and personalise what you’ve heard. The reflection questions will be used as your life group discussions, so coming prepared will help you get the most out of it.
  • Host Guide – for Life Group discussion and to create space for you to experience the Holy Spirit through community and conversation, so you can live out the teaching together.

You can download it here.

Do I have to be in a small group to participate?

While the series can be attended individually, we strongly encourage joining a small group to process what you’re learning with others. Discipleship happens best in community. If you’re interested in joining a life group, please express your interest here by completing this form.

How long is the series?

The sermon series runs for 9 weeks, and there are 7 life group sessions.

Why are there 9 sermons but only 7 life group sessions?

Some topics require more in-depth teaching than others. As a result, certain life group sessions will be longer and will require you to listen to two sermons and spend more time reading and reflecting in preparation. To stay on track, be sure to start your preparation earlier.

What is the best way to run this if I host a fortnightly life group?

If you’re hosting a fortnightly life group, the earliest you should begin is the week after the sermon series starts. For example, if Sermon #1 is on April 27, your first life group session should begin the week of April 28 or any later date.

We recommend starting after the sermon because the teaching serves as the foundation for your group’s discussion and preparation.

If you’re hosting a weekly life group, please start no earlier than 19 May to ensure that you’re able to continuously run 7 sessions.

How do I run this in my life group?

To run this in a life group, use the devotional and life group guide and sermon series.

For all:

  • Prepare for each session by reading the devotion and doing the reflection questions in the guide.
  • Come ready to discuss your reflections and practice the teaching together. The reflection questions will be used as your life group discussions, so coming prepared will help you get the most out of it.

For leaders:

  • Familiarise yourself with the host guide to help lead the discussion
What if I miss a week?

We’ll have recordings and resources available so you can catch up anytime. Spiritual formation is a journey, and it’s okay if you’re not there every week.

Will this be emotional or vulnerable?

It might be. When God works on our hearts, He often touches deep places. But we’ll create safe spaces for reflection, honesty, and healing, and you’ll never be forced to share more than you’re comfortable with.

Is there a cost or sign-up required?

There is no cost to attend. We do encourage registration, so we can support you well and place you in a group if you’re interested.

How can I prepare my heart for this series?

Come with openness. Pray for God to speak to you. This isn’t about fixing yourself—it’s about making space for the Holy Spirit to do what only He can do.
