SOAR Discussion Questions  |  19 January 2020

Time is often viewed as another resource that we get to control and use as we please. However, this is not what the Bbile tells us about time. Time is not just “another resource” because we have all been given a finite amount of time to steward, and it has only been given to us by a gracious God. With this in mind, how do we change how we view time, how we use time, and how God can use our lives with the time He has given us?

Scripture

Proverbs 22:3; 27:12; 3:5-8; Galatians 6:7-10

  1. Whilst many parts of our lives are unpredictable when we look back there are some things that we can see that is a direct result of our choices in the past.  Share a situation that you are in now that is a result of your past choices whether good or bad.
  2. What are your life goals?  How well do they align with the principles/values from the Bible?  What do you need to adjust so that they align better with the Bible?
  3. Share a time when someone else was able to highlight blind spots in your life that helped you mature as a person.  What was your reaction and what did you do with the advice/information/insight?  What was the outcome?
  4. Name a situation that you are in right now, what can you begin sowing today that will lead you in the right direction for the future?
  5. Proverbs 3:5-8 tells us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not to lean on our own understanding.  In what ways are you submitting to God and not just asking for His involvement in what you have already decided to do?
  6. Are you in a season of hardship?  In what way can you turn this season of hardship into a season of sowing?
